Coaching

We're building a directory of skateboard coaching across the North East: every skate school, coach and community group that meets a published standard. You book with them directly. We check the documents behind every listing, and we show when we saw them.

Opening now

Looking for coaching?

The first listings go up over the coming weeks. Until then, tell us where you are, roughly how many people, what ages, and when. We'll put you in touch with someone who can help. Schools, councils, youth groups and parents all welcome.

Tell us what you need

What we check

Every coaching listing shows us these documents on a call or in person. We record the date we saw each one and when it expires. We never keep a copy, and never a certificate number.

What every coaching listing has shown us
CheckIndependent coachSkate school
Enhanced DBS checkIssued in the last three years, or on the Update ServiceThe same, for every coach
First aidA current certificateAt least one first-aider at every session
InsurancePublic liability, in date, with the amount statedPublic liability of at least £5 million, in date
SafeguardingFollows the school’s policy, or holds their ownA written policy and a named safeguarding lead
Coaching qualificationNot required. Shown on the listing when heldNot required. Shown on the listing when held

Being listed means we have seen these documents, on the date shown. It is not an endorsement of anyone's coaching. Listings are checked again every year, and a listing comes down when a document expires. Community groups listed for meet-ups only are shown as "informal meet-up, not coaching or supervised", with no checks, because none are claimed.

Coach or run a skate school?

Listing is free. You take your own bookings, and we pass on enquiries from the councils and schools we work with.

A declared interest

Pop More Skate School is run by Shred The North's founder. It will be listed on the same terms as everyone else, checked the same way, and never shown first by default.
