Projects

The skate spaces still to come, and the ones we've already helped build. We work with councils from the first brief to opening day, and we stay for the coaching after.

  1. 2023–2025

    Blyth Town Council

    Isabella Skatepark, Blyth

Isabella skatepark started with a design brief we wrote in January 2023. From there we advised Blyth Town Council through procurement, worked alongside the builders on the final design, ran coaching at the Isabella Centre through 2024, rewrote the park’s signage from a skater’s point of view, and ran the engagement days when it opened in February 2025.

It’s one of the rare parks where the council brought in a skate organisation from the first sketch to opening day, and kept us for the coaching after.

  2. 2025–ongoing

    Gateshead Council

    5 Bridges Options Study, Gateshead

We’ve worked for the future of 5 Bridges since 2019, from a workshop with the Council to the 5 Bridges Skate Jam. In 2026 Gateshead Council commissioned us to find the spot a replacement: we ran the public survey, scored the borough’s skateparks, visited sites and worked with Betongpark on visualisations.

The study went to the Council in June, and we’re now working with it on choosing a site.

  3. 2024–2026

Northumberland County Council · Seaton Valley Community Council

    Northumberland summer coaching

Every summer since 2024 we’ve run the Northumberland Shred sessions across Seaton Valley, in Seghill, New Hartley and beyond, for Northumberland County Council and Seaton Valley Community Council.

  4. 2024–2025

    Indoor skatepark

    The Boardroom, Gateshead

An indoor skatepark in Gateshead that we helped set up and run as directors, with weekly coaching, half-term sessions and outreach to around 60 local primary schools.

  5. 2025

    Skateboard GB

Skateable Spaces: the UK’s first national skatepark audit

In 2025 we were the North East’s Regional Skate Associate for Skateable Spaces, Skateboard GB’s first national audit of the UK’s skateparks and skate spots. The project was funded by Sport England, led by researchers at Goldsmiths, University of London, and delivered with the skatepark designers Betongpark.

Alongside eleven associates across the UK, we surveyed every skatepark and significant spot in the North East, using site visits, local knowledge and desktop research. We added spaces missing from the national list, flagged parks that had disappeared, and took part in a research interview on the region’s scene. The findings were published in March 2026.
