What we collect through this website, why, who else handles it, and how long we keep it.

Who we are

Shred The North is run by David Apomah, who is responsible for the information described here. To ask about it, use the contact form.

What you send us

The contact form collects your name, email address, and anything else you choose to give: a phone number, your organisation, and your message. We use it only to reply to you and, if you ask about coaching, to put you in touch with a coach or skate school. We pass your details to a coach only with your agreement.

The coaching directory application collects your name, contact details, where you coach, and what you tell us you hold (DBS, first aid, insurance, safeguarding). We use it to assess your application and arrange a call to see your documents. We never keep copies of documents or certificate numbers; we record only the date we saw each one and when it expires.

The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and running the directory, and, for listed coaches, the arrangement between us.

What the site records about visits

We count page views and a few actions, such as a form being sent, to see what people use. This uses no cookies and no advertising trackers. A random number is kept in your browser for the length of one visit so that a visit's pages count once; it isn't linked to you and is gone when you close the tab.

The video on the home page uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube sets nothing until you press play; after that, Google's own privacy policy applies.

Who else handles it

  • Cloudflare hosts the website.
  • Resend delivers form messages to our inbox by email.
  • Google provides that inbox.
  • Supabase stores the visit counts, and holds form messages when email delivery isn't available, so that none are lost.

We don't sell or share your information with anyone else.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries: 12 months from our last reply, then deleted.
  • Directory applications: for as long as you're listed, then 12 months. Unsuccessful applications: 12 months.
  • Visit counts: 90 days.

Your rights
